About Wayne Radley

Wayne started his career in the Painting and Decorating trade completing his apprenticeship with Pumfries winning the title of Apprentice Of The Year no fewer than three times. He then went to work for the family Painting & Decorating business. Wishing to expand his knowledge and experience he moved in to Property Maintenance as well as Painting & Decorating . Taking on contracts for Local Councils and Regional Councils, The Police Authority, and utilities companies. He was also privilegd to be asked to work in Great Windsor Park. He has covered all types of work to the highest specifications. His skills include Paperhanging and Airless Spraying. He covers many specialist areas such as the application of Hygiene Coatings, waterproofing leaking roofs, and specialist wood repairs systems when replacement is not an option.

He then moved in to his first role with the military as Assistant Works Services Manager assisting with the running and maintenance of the base building stock, both external and internal, monitoring sub-contractors to ensure that work was carried out to the required specification.

His second base saw an increase in building stock and taking on the role of Mechanical & Electrical Manager as well as the Building & Contstruction Manager. Ensuring that all work was completed, carrying oout snagging and ensuring that all works were completed in line with contract requirements. Health and safety coupled with Risk Assessments & Method Statements were a key part of his new role.

Moving to his third base as project manager saw his role expanded to cover grounds maintenance over the base and on the airfield. This included habitat management, management of cutting of grass to the correct specified height for different areas, obtaining soil sampling and testing for future treatments, spraying of Pesticides and Herbicides, the obtaining of tree reports and the actioning of necessary works from such reports.

His new role also saw him taking on the management of all the hard surfaces throughout the camp. This included the maintenance and replacement of areas which had broken down including, Runways, Roads and Paved areas, overseeing the identification of A.S.R. (Concrete Cancer), and actioning it’s replacement or treatment with specialist materials.

Wayne has always been a keen sportsman and has represented Lincolnshire County at Badminton for which he has undertaken various roles such as County Talent Identification Officer and supports Badminton at the highest level, such as the All England Championships, Commonwealth Games, World Championships and the London 2012 Olympics. To keep himself fit and as a personal challenge has seen Wayne complete the national three and five peaks on several occasions and the Bullock Smithy Challenge hike and this year he will be attempting the hundred mile hike in Cornwall to be completed in forty eight hours.
